Barcelona Four Seasons School of Demography
The Bcn4Seasons School consists of intensive courses offering the opportunity to acquire essential knowledge of sociodemographic topics and associated techniques that are applicable to social sciences in general. Students will receive up-to-date, relevant training that will enhance their professional development under the guidance of lecturers who, through their research, significantly contribute to their field of study. The Bcn4Seasons School benefits from 40 years of experience of the CED in managing excellent postgraduate programmes. Additionally, the Bcn4Seasons format is inspired by, and replicates the successful experience of the BaRcelona Summer School of Demography.

Training workshop on "Demographic Analysis with Applications to Aging and Health"
Bangkok, Thailand, 16-27 September 2024

This training workshop will be hosted from 16 to 27 September 2024 at the College of Population Studies (CPS), Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Led by Professor Sergei Scherbov, a distinguished expert in demographic computer applications and aging research, this intensive two-week program will offer daily sessions lasting 6 hours each. Participants will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge approaches to measuring aging, with a particular emphasis on its implications for health and society.

Formation à l'Approche par les Capabilités
L’Union pour l’étude de la Population Africaine (UEPA), en collaboration avec le Réseau Régional Afrique francophone, coordonné par l’Université de Genève (Institut de démographique et de socioéconomie, IDESO) présente un outil de formation à l’Approche par les Capabilités pour les études et programmes de population en Afrique francophone. L’Approche par les Capabilités examine les facteurs individuels et collectifs qui influencent positivement ou négativement les capabilités.
Les activités développées dans le cadre du panel Capabilités de l’UEPA et, depuis peu, du réseau régional Afrique francophone de la HDCA ont confirmé l’intérêt pour l’Approche par les capabilités des chercheurs et praticiens africains et le besoin de formations francophones pour consolider les compétences à cet égard et créer un réseau de chercheurs l’appliquant.
L'objectif principal du panel Capabilités de l’UEPA est de familiariser les membres francophones intéressés avec l'Approche par les Capabilités afin de construire un réseau de chercheurs/enseignants/praticiens ayant les compétences pour l'appliquer.
Notez bien que la formation à l'approche par les Capabilités est en FRANÇAIS et que seuls les membres de l'Afrique francophone sont encouragés à remplir le formulaire ci-dessous.
