Professional Summary:

My responsibilities include teaching Demography, Research methodology and Reproductive Health at B.A. M.A. and M.Phil level in our University and even across the country through Distance Education. I am also teaching Social Demography for M.A. Sociology and Dynamic of Population and Family Welfare for Social Work students.

To my credit, I have guided 17 M.Phil Scholars on various topics which are mostly monitoring and evaluation of population and health related programmes and presently guiding 5 M.Phil and two PhD scholars. Under my supervision a doctoral thesis entitled Reproductive and sexual health status of Scheduled Caste youth in Thiruvarur district, Tamilnadu was awarded.

Presently I am handling one UGC major research projects and I have completed one UGC, two ICSSR, one Ford Foundation and one POPCOUNCIL project. I have so far contributed 21 research articles at national level journals and 7 at international level, beside 13 chapters in the edited books.
