Professional Summary:

Maurice is a trained epidemiologist and biostatistician with experience in research related environment and a PhD student at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He holds a MSc. (Biostatistics and Epidemiology) from the same University and a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics and Computer Science) from JKUAT, Kenya. Maurice work has focused on how different marginalised groups benefit and respond to government initiatives such as free primary education. He has technical expertise in study design, sampling, measurement of learning outcomes,  data analysis, process and impact evaluation, report and scientific writing  and fund raising and operational expertise in project and financial management. Maurice has special interest in understanding the inter-linkages between education and health. He has authored and co-authored articles in international peer reviewed journals. He is driven by the need to contribute to the development of marginalized people and influencing polices that can lead to improvement of their wellbeing.
