Professional Summary:

Denise holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), a PhD in Demography (UFMG), and a postdoctoral specialization in basic sanitation and public policies (UFMG). She served as the coordinator for labor market and demography at the João Pinheiro Foundation and is currently the coordinator of the municipal population projections and estimates project for the State of Minas Gerais. Additionally, she is the demographer responsible for calculating longevity indicators for the Municipal Human Development Atlas of Brazil. She has extensive experience in creating and calculating indicators, handling large databases, applying demographic techniques to correct underreporting of mortality, population projections, and addressing specific topics such as international migration and the labor market in Minas Gerais.
