Chinyere C. P. Nnorom Ph.D. is a Sociologist with a bias in Demography. Currently, she is a Professor with the Department of Sociology/Psychology/Criminology & Security Studies at the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Her areas of research interests covers most social problems and they  include, but not limited to, fertility, mortality, children, youth and women studies, reproductive health and sexuality related issues. Her continued interest in Child development culminated in her Ph.D. thesis titled: Infant and Child Mortality in a Rural Area of Imo State Nigeria. In addition, the rising incidences of child sexual abuse resulted in her publication titled: Sexual Abuse of Children and the Child Rights Act in Nigeria: Is Implementation Feasible. The current work on Child Marriage and Child Betrothal in Nigeria: An Act in Futility? became essential to address the heinous crimes the girl child face in a country that projects itself as being sensitive to the problems of the weak and vulnerable.
