Curriculum Vitae:

Professional Summary:

I am a sex sociologist-turned-anthropologist whose research examines the intersections of gender, sexuality, culture, and health in African societies. My work explores cultural representations of men and boys, sexual practices, pleasure, intimacy, and queer lives, while engaging critically with questions of power, desire, and embodiment. I contribute to theoretical and methodological debates in sexuality studies, advancing perspectives from the Global South. I serve as Academic Editor at PLOS ONE and Editor of the Ghana Journal of Sociology and Anthropology (GJSA), and I review for leading journals including The Lancet Global Health. I have examined theses at top African and European universities and supervise doctoral candidates at the University of Glasgow and KU Leuven. A CCNY, ACLS/AHP, and Gates Foundation Fellow, and two-time World Social Science Forum Fellow, I lecture at the University of Cape Coast and founded the Centre for Men’s Health and Sex Studies in Ghana.
