Professional Summary:

Boyam Fabrice Yaméogo is Assistant Professor of Modeling and Simulation at Université Lédéa Bernard Ouédraogo and Adjunct Lecturer in Statistics at the Higher Institute of Population Sciences (ISSP), Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo, Burkina Faso. An applied mathematician (Ph.D., Université de Nantes, 2021) also trained in demography, he works at the intersection of computational social science and digital demography. His research covers synthetic population generation, microsimulation, spatial modeling, machine learning and the use of non-conventional data (web data, APIs and digital traces) to study health, poverty and living conditions in West Africa. His peer-reviewed work appears in Environment and Planning B, the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation and Transportation Research Record, and he contributes to open-source software. He has served as a statistical expert on EU- and UN-Habitat-funded programs and trains researchers and professionals in data science, notably as a trainer at the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS) in Ouagadougou.
