Two fully-funded research positions to study the descendants of refugees
Deadline for applications: 30 Sept 2021
We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for two fully-funded research positions as part of the ERC project: A Better Life for the Children of Exile: Intergenerational Adaptation of the Descendants of Refugees, which aims to understand the inequalities that are faced by the children and grandchildren of refugees, and the factors that determine these inequalities.
The positions are ideal for ambitious quantitative researchers who wish to cut across interdisciplinary boundaries and produce world-leading research. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant social science subject, and successful applicants will start in January 2022, or as per agreement. The positions both involve full-time employment for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Information on how to apply is available here and the vacancies are listed on the Stockholm University website here.
More information about the project is available here and here. Based at the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA), one of Stockholm University's leading research institutes, the project will use whole-population Swedish register data covering multiple domains of life, including: education, income, employment, family formation, housing, segregation and health. There is considerable flexibility regarding the content of the research, and we welcome candidates with innovative research interests and ideas, including those that are linked to sociology and demography, as well as other quantitative social science disciplines.
Please note that we welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
Applicants are also welcome to get in touch for more information.
