Online Laureate ceremony in honour of Jane Bertrand

This webinar was held in honour of Jane Bertrand in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the advancement of population sciences and distinguished services rendered to the population community. Introduced by IUSSP President Laura Wong, it included speeches by the following speakers who addressed various aspects of Jane Bertrand’s career: Anastasia Gage, Michael White, Victoria Ward, Ilene Speizer, Eric Mafuta, Fidèle Mbadu Muanda, David Hotchkiss, Annie Glover, Julie Hernandez and William Bertrand. Jane Bertrand’s acceptance speech was followed by short interventions by Beth Frederick, Philip Anglewicz and Kate LaNasa.
The Council selected Jane Bertrand as the 2026 IUSSP Laureate in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the advancement of population sciences and distinguished services rendered to the population community.
