The position of Director, French Institute for Demographic Studies (INED, Paris) is declared vacant as of 29 September 2015.
INED (http://www.ined.fr/en) is a public research institute specializing in population studies that works in partnership with the academic and research communities at national and international levels. Nearly 240 people, including 50 tenured, or permanent, researchers and more than 30 doctoral students, work at INED. The Institute has 10 research units and 5 research support services.
The Director, selected from among candidates with scientific competence in the field, is appointed by decree based on a joint proposal from the Ministers responsible for Population and Research. The duration of the mandate, currently three years, is likely to be increased to four years, renewable once.
