Salary Package: Academic Level D $136,843 - $145,576 or Academic Level E $169,586 per annum plus 17% superannation
The School of Demography is seeking an Associate Professor or Professor in the field of Demography. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record for excellence in research and publication in demography and will contribute towards the School's research agenda, generate external funding and research grants and consultancies, and in expanding its teaching programs and undertaking graduate supervision. The level of appointment will depend on qualifications and experience.
The School of Demography (http://demography.anu.edu.au/) is situated within the Research School of Social Sciences. It has the largest concentration of demographers in Australia actively engaged in a broad range of demographic research areas, including family formation and change; mortality, longevity and ageing; international and internal migration; as well as the interdisciplinary research areas of gender, modelling, forecasting and the environment. Current staff carry out research on a wide range of countries with particular concentration on Australia, Indonesia, China, Africa and Europe. The School currently has 28 PhD students and is planning a new Master of Demography degree program. The School also has close collaborations with cognate schools across the University campus.
