Professional Summary:

Dr Muhidin is currently a senior lecturer in Demography at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University. Previously he was appointed as Postdoctoral and ResTeach Fellows at Queensland Centre for Population Research, the University of Queensland. He was involved in both research and teaching roles, especially with the Department of Human Geography.  Dr Muhidin came to Australia with a wide-ranging international experience, including placements in North America (Brown University and Université de Montréal), Europe (Groningen University and IIASA-Austria), and Asia (University of Indonesia). Dr Muhidin obtained PhD degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He has actively been working on the study of population mobility issues and its consequences in different settings such as Asia (Indonesia), West Africa (Burkina Faso and Ghana) and Australia. Recently, he also involves in the study on health development in Indonesia with special attentions to the issues of maternal and child health.
