Sureeporn Punpuing, Ph.D. is a Professor at the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, and Director of the Mahidol Migration Center. She served as Director of IPSR from 2008 to 2016, guiding its growth as a leading center for interdisciplinary population research. With over 30 years of academic and policy engagement, her work spans migration, ageing, health, urbanization, and the intersection of population dynamics with environmental change.
Dr. Punpuing has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Silpakorn University, a Certificate in Population Sciences from the International Institute for Population Sciences (India), a Master’s in Demography, and a Ph.D. in Resource Management and Environmental Sciences from the Australian National University. Her interdisciplinary training underpins her ability to link demographic research with health, environmental sustainability, and social policy.
