Dr. Sunethra J. Perera is a Professor of Demography at the Department of Demography, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She has a BA (Hon), Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Development, Postgraduate Diploma Population Studies, MA in Economics (Colombo), and Ph.D. in Demography (Mahidol). Her research interests include population health and aging, internal and international migration, human resources development and labor market information, and subnational population estimates. She is a Council member of the Population Association of Sri Lanka (PASL) and also a member of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) and Asian Population Association (APA).
