Professional Summary:

Dr. Goli is an Associate Professor in Demography at the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai. He works in population dynamics, public health, and regional developmental issues in developing countries in general and India in particular. Before joining IIPS, he was a New Generation Network Scholar at the Australia India Institute (AII) and UWA Public Policy Institute in the University of Western Australia and also worked as an Assistant Professor in Population Studies at the Centre for the Studies in Regional Development (CSRD), School of Social Sciences (SSS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He was a visiting faculty at the University of Gottingen, Germany, from May to June 2018. He has more than ten years of experience in teaching and M.Phil. & Ph.D. supervision in demography, public health, and development studies. He guided five M.Phil. and nine Ph.D. theses. He has been involved in several major projects funded by national and international organizations. His current research interests include population dynamics and its implications for development, public health and nutritional inequalities and its social determinants, and demographics of gender. He has published more than 90 research articles in highly reputed peer-reviewed international and national journals, five book chapters, and three reports and co-authored a book. He serves as an academic editor for PLOS One, SAGE Open, and the Journal of Sustainability.
