Professional Summary:

I am working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Migration and Urban Studies, IIPS, Mumbai, India. I was also faculty at GBPSSI, Prayagraj, India for a decade. I obtained my M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Population Studies from IIPS, Mumbai, India. My research areas include migration and development, urbanization, public health and population ageing. I have published three books and more than 20 research papers in reputed international and national journals and edited books. I am a registered collaborator from India in the Project “International Migration around the Globe (IMAGE)”. I have been PI of the projects entitled Food Insecurity and Dietary Diversity among Low-Income Migrant Workers Affected by COVID-19 in India (funded by University of Aberdeen, UK) and Understanding the Pattern and Processes of Temporary and Permanent Labor Migration from Rural Jharkhand: An Exploratory Study (funded by ICSSR, New Delhi). I am also one of the conveners of SALAM IIPS.
