Simon Mariwah

Simon Mariwah is a Professor of Health and Development Geography at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. His research interests include environmental sanitation, mHealth, health behaviours, community development and livelihoods. He holds a BA (Economics and Geography) degree from UCC, and in his graduating class of 2004, Prof Mariwah was adjudged the Overall Best Graduating Student (CGPA 3.9 out of 4.0). He was subsequently awarded a scholarship by the University of Cape Coast for an Accelerated PhD in Geography (2005-2009) with specialisation in Environment and Development. Prof Mariwah has risen through the ranks, starting as a Lecturer in 2010 to Senior Lecturer in 2013, Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2022. He has over 60 research publications to his credit and has shared his research findings at conferences across the world.
