I am Ajay Murmu, a passionate PhD candidate in Population Studies at the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. My academic journey began with a BA and MA in Geography, which sparked my interest in understanding migration, urbanization, tribal studies, and spatial demography. I have also completed an MPS, further deepening my expertise in population studies.
Throughout my academic career, I have developed proficiency in handling large-scale survey data and tools like QGIS, ArcGIS, Stata and SPSS. My research has led to publications and presentations at prestigious platforms, including the International Geographical Congress in Dublin. I take pride in my ability to explore complex topics such as migration, urbanization and residential segregation of tribal populations.
I aspire to make meaningful contributions to research and policy in migration and urban studies.
