The Department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Urban Studies beginning in August 2016.  A successful candidate for this position must have a demonstrated research agenda that has the potential to lead to external funding. Located in the heart of Amsterdam, we are a Ph.D. granting department with a research active faculty and a diverse graduate and undergraduate student body. Consultant for the United Nations Population Award for the period from 2 January to 31 March 2016.

Under the supervision of the Director, Division of Governance and Multilateral Affairs (DGM), the consultant will research and prepare a high-quality report on individuals and institutions, nominated for the United Nations Population Award.  This report will be presented to a high-level intergovernmental committee for discussion and consideration at United Nations Headquarters.
