1/ UAPS Workshop on Scientific Writing
Nairobi, Kenya, 11-15 August 2025

• Application deadline: June 30, 2025

UAPS will be organizing a fully funded research methods workshop in Nairobi, Kenya. All expenses, including travel and accommodation, will be covered for successful applicants.

Who Should Apply?
•    PhD students who are paid-up UAPS Members
•    Members who are enthusiastic about research and knowledge exchange
•    Members who are able to travel to Nairobi in August 2025

2/ Call for Expression of Interest – Data and AI Scientific Panel

• Application deadline: July 20, 2025.

Applications are now open for the Data and AI Scientific Panel.

This Thematic Panel aims to convene experts from across disciplines to assess current and emerging applications of AI and computational methods in demographic research and national data systems in Africa. It will promote collaboration, build capacity, and develop actionable guidelines for ethical, impactful AI integration in population science.
