New IUSSP Early Career Awards
The Council is proud to announce that it has established a new IUSSP Early Career Award. This Award aims to acknowledge and honor outstanding contributions to the development of our discipline and the broad field of population studies by early career scholars in the various regions in the world and boost the global visibility of their achievements.
The IUSSP Early Career Award will be established for the following world regions: Africa; Asia and the Pacific; Europe; Latin America and the Caribbean; North America. Per region, one award will be bestowed.
As regional population associations are best placed to assess excellence in their regions, the Council is happy that the Awards will be bestowed in a unique collaboration with the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS), the Asian Population Association (APA), the European Association for Population Studies (EAPS), the Latin American Population Association (ALAP), and the Population Association of America (PAA).
Working towards this Award over the past years, the IUSSP Council proudly acknowledges the collaboration and support of the regional population associations, as well as the constructive comments from colleagues of the IUSSP Scientific Panel Early Career Perspectives and other colleagues.
The IUSSP Early Career Awards will be presented every other year, starting in 2023. The Call for Nominations is open now and closes 1 June 2023!
