Done Masters in Economics with distinction (1985) and completed M. Phil (1987) and Ph. D in Economics (1992) on the topic ‘Population Explosion and Unemployment Problem in South Asia’ from University of Jammu and post-doctoral research fellowship (2006) funded by International Water Management Institute, Sri Lanka to carry out research at Centre for Comparative Water Policies and Laws, University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia.

 

Currently, working as Associate Professor at Department of Economics, University of Jammu, Jammu since 1998 and teaching the courses on ‘Demography’ and ‘Environmental and Natural Resource Economics’ to post-graduate students and a course on "Recent Developments in the India and the World Economy" to M. Phil students, and guiding M. Phil and Ph. D Students on demography and environmental and natural resource economics research. Serving as Visiting Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Human Development, New Delhi for conduct of evaluation and livelihoods research since 2002
