Webinar description:

The goal of this new IUSSP panel is to draw attention to the role played by multi-morbidity in current epidemiological profiles and mortality dynamics and to foster the inclusion of multiple causes of death and multi-morbidity in research. A growing number of studies examine mortality profiles and trends, as well as the contribution of multi-morbidity to death processes, using the entire set of causes listed on death certificates. New methods have been developed to analyze this rich material, and several national statistical offices already monitor multiple cause-of-death statistics. The multiple cause-of-death approach is a highly valuable tool for demographers, which deserves to be more widely known and used. Read below for more information on the speakers.
